Schist & granite soils with some clay on the surface. 30-50 year old vines.
Traditional semi-carbonic whole cluster fermentation.
This climat of Morgon is rapidly becoming known as a go-to source for age-worthy Beaujolais. The texture of the wine, resulting from higher levels of schist in the soil rather than the more granite reaches of the Côte du Py, is more structured while being surprisingly approachable in its youth.
Bright fresh cherries dominate the nose with some earth notes leading into a poised, structured wine with a gritty mineral texture.
