The Chenin vines producing grapes for this exuberant crystalline vin pétillant are located in the finest Asterie chalk parcels in the the Entre-deux-Mers growing region. The Dupuch vineyards form islands of biodiversity inside an area that is not so inclined historically. The results are stunning.
Though not graced with AOC status, Chenin thrives in these chalky vineyards producing a wine with a light golden hue and sporting a fine, delicate bead of effervesant texture. Lively fruit aromatics of citrus, quince and stone fruit are seductive before the lively, high-toned wine hits the palate. Light-footed but poised and persistent on the finish, this is an impressive effort.
