The southwest exposed, kimméridgien 1er Cru Fourchaume vineyard produces some of the finest wines of Chablis. This is due to the fact that the slopes benefit from lustrous afternoon sunshine and cool nights that make for a ripe but elegant wine with excellent acidity.
In the nose, this wine shows classic brioche and reductive notes tinged with citrus and ripe melon fruit. Bracing saline acidity balances out the ripe fruit middle and everything comes together for a wine with great length and elegance. Although showing well now, this wine will benefit from at least 5 years of aging. Drink with anything, but especially seafood…
