Le Bouchet is a 2.2 hectare, single vineyard parcel with excellent southeast exposure located on the plateau above Vouvray that has always been vinified in a demi-sec style because of its ability to ripen grapes year in and year out, probably due to its 80+ year old vines… The nose of tangy citrus and toasted almonds leads into a wine with great, flowing texture and good viscosity. Huge acidity freshens everything up and leaves the tongue asking for more.
Declassified from the Vouvray appellation in 2014 because of a disagreement over whether a winemaker can make Vouvray if his/her cellar is not in Vouvray, François took the “Le” off and made it Vin de France.
