2009 Riesling, Grand Cru, Schlossberg

Appellation

Riesling, Grand Cru

Cuvée

Schlossberg

This famous Grand Cru vineyard lies between 200-300 meters in altitude. The soil is composed of granite and clay from the neighboring slopes of Kayserberg & Thannenkirch. This highly mineral soil composition is ideally suited to riesling and provides the components necessary for great aromatics and crystalline acidity.
The honeyed mineral nose leads into a fairly wide, but precisely focused wine that shows great harmony between the rich fruit, great acidity and mineral backbone.
