From one of the finest 1er Cru vineyards above the village of Santenay, this high-elevation site imparts nice minerals and acidity to elegant wines which enables the wines to age marvelously well. This wine was held back in the chilly cellars below the chateau in Santenay for 20 years and the resulting wine is very poised retaining a beautiful expression of primary cherry fruit melded with earthy aged notes. Quite fresh on the palate, this is a gorgeous example of why we age red Burgundy.
