Vineyard: Single vineyard at 450-550 meters elevation and northern exposure. Clay & sandy loam over volcanic bedrock.
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in open concrete vats. Malolactic and aging in 500L neutral French oak puncheons. Unfiltered.
This is a more high-toned wine needing more bottle age than others to come together. The nose of cranberry and minerals leads into a mineral based wine with very bright flavors and high acidity. The tannins are ripe and the freshness here reminds us of a more northern wine. Very complex.
