Sourced from the estate vineyards of Cjastenet and Roncj. Cjastenet has a south-southwest exposure at 150-200 meters and Roncj has a south-southeast exposure at 165-180 meters.
This wine is vinified in stainless steel with a maceration of about two weeks and it is aged in cask for about one year followed by one year in bottle before release.
Cialla is a monopole appellation, a recongized sub-zone of Collio Orientali del Friuli where Ronchi di Cialla is the only producer.
The 2021 Ciallarosso is a total pleasure, wafting up from the glass with a perfumed bouquet of lavender, roses, subtle hints of pepper and wild blueberries. It sweeps across the palate with lifted textures, energetic yet refined with crunchy mineral tones and floral-laced red berry fruits. This tapers off with medium length and lightly tannic, leaving the palate stained in youthful concentration as violet inner florals fade.
