It has been said that Pinot Noir is the “heartbreak grape” and no love-sick swain has been more heartsick than RG in his long-time romance with the ever elusive Pinot. His love-madness has known no proper bounds, even to the point of his planting a small plot of hyper-densely planted (20,000 vines/ha.), ungrafted vines. His enamorment with this grape will wane when the stars fall from the sky. Approximately 1045 750ml. bottles were produced. 13.0% Alc by volume.

Virginie Boone for Jeb Dunnuck: 96 pts.
Densely planted at 20,000 vines per hectare, with 12 different randomized clones, the Popelouchum Estate 2023 Pinot Noir “Exuberant,” is an elegant, delicate and perfumed wine, slatey in crisp tart red fruit. One hundred percent whole-cluster fermented, the stems were air-dried. The peppery, savory quality of this unfined /unfiltered wine is profound. Drink 2025-2033
