The area in and around the village of Chavot is known for its Pinot Meunier and Aurélien Laherte has made it his goal to express the magic of this varietal through this bottling of rosé. To achieve this, he has devised a blend of three unique styles of winemaking that when blended together showcase the gorgeous potential that these old vines have. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Meunier. The style of winemaking is as follows:
30% from saignée style maceration for body & freshness
10% red wine for complexity and power
60% white wine for crisp fresh fruit
The result is an extremely complex and satisfying display of Pinot Meunier in all its glory. The texture is rich, creamy and plump with added aromatics of both berry fruit as well as aged wine. All is held together by a crisp, fruit-driven mineral backbone that keeps you coming back for more.

The NV Extra Brut Rosé de Meunier is dazzling. Rich yet focused, with superb depth, Laherte’s Extra Brut Rosé is a magical Champagne in every way. Orange peel, sweet red berry fruit, cranberry, mint and chalk are some of the many aromas and flavors that develop as this breathtaking Champagne shows off its pedigree. This release is a blend of 2017 and 2016 composed of 60% Meunier (white), 30% Meunier (macerated) and 10% Meunier (still red wine). In a word: magical. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: March, 2020.
