60% Nero d’Avola, 40% Frappato di Vittoria. Estate grown in Bastonica, Vittoria. 25 year old vines.
Red clay soils soils with subalpine sands composed of limestone & silica. 230 meters elevation.
Spontaneous fermentation on the skins in terracotta amphorae with indigenous yeasts. Aged in amphorae for 9 months followed by 3 months in bottle before release.
