Vines planted in 1991. 10,000 vines per hectare in and around the small hamlet of upper Santenay which also goes by the name of Saint Jean named after it’s gorgeous church. Yields are capped at 50hl/hectare. Barrel fermented and aged in mostly neutral oak.
Although more famous for its red wines, Santenay is also well-known for its white wines due to a cooler climate with higher elevation vineyards in some parts. The nose of this wine shows subtle citrus and spice notes leading into a wine with good acidity and a creamy texture. There is nice cut here with plenty of generous richness and volume that allow it to hit above its rank.
