In 2014 we planted Cabernet Franc at Watson Ranch Vineyard with a Loire Valley selection that is a great fit for the cool and breezy nature of the site. The fruit in 2022 was fermented without destemming and the resulting wine was aged in a 360 gallon French oak foudre to preserve varietal purity. This effusively aromatic wine is packed with peppery, briary fruit, offering a unique expression of Cabernet Franc for the Napa Valley. We feel the wine will improve with some time in the cellar but will also provide much enjoyment in its youth.
