Soil: Granite base with sandy veins.
Vineyards: Located at 580-600 meters altitude, where all herbicide and fertilizer duties are performed by the local Serra da Estrela Bordaleira sheep.
The 2023 growing year was very heterogeneous. A rainy winter was followed by a quite moderate spring, providing favorable conditions for the vines to thrive. July brought very high temperatures, with three heat waves which reduced the yields somewhat.
Vinification takes place in open stainless steel fermenters under controlled temperatures with traditional foot-treading and only indigenous yeasts.
Bottled young to preserve its vibrant floral and fruity aromas and flavors, showcasing the freshness of a young, but very complex red.
This Touriga Nacional is a single-variety wine produced from one of Portugal’s most renowned grapes. Unwooded, unadulterated and linear, this wine makes a good food partner.
The nose is very fresh and intense with notes of wild black fruits and berries, and the very marked fresh floral notes of violets, typical of Touriga Nacional. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated, showing elegant but firm tannins. It has a very persistent finish.
