| Producer: Domaine Confuron-Cotetidot | | Region: Burgundy | | Wine: 2003 Echézeaux | | 2003 Echézeaux: (from a .45 ha parcel in Les Treux where Clos de Vougeot meets Grands Echézeaux). Wonderfully spicy and exuberant black pinot fruit aromas of real depth lead to very rich, chocolate and mocha-infused flavors yet despite the obvious richness, this retains a fine sense of precision and punch. The tannins are big, firm and robust and this will require plenty of patience. It’s also riper than I personally like but this may very well age out into something quite interesting as the depth of material is most impressive. Stated differently, this could very well surprise on the upside. (88-91)/2013+ (burghound Jan. 2005) |
